Since starting this venture I have looked at various sources to build an income based around my exploring, and its not an easy task obtaining affiliates, especially when there is such a heavily saturated market of influencers within the community.
However, I made an impact with some of my content and this resulted in me landing my first affiliate with Shine Armor. Now, we aren't hear to listen to all the affiliate hype or struggles on making money in the "influencer" world, so lets get to it..
Shine Armor reached out to me and asked if I would like to try one or two of their products for free, and in exchange, I provide some content, photos and a review. Now, I originally wanted to test their scratch remover and see how it handled the trail rash my 4Runner has, however, they had already decided to send me the Spray Wax Quick Coat. The Carnuba Spray Wax is right up my alley as I have yet to use any ceramic based products, and have always used traditional Carnuba paste wax. So how did the spray wax perform compared to a traditional wax?

I am thoroughly impressed with the initial application of the Shine Armor Spray wax, which was one application of quick (as the label instructions describe) wipe on with a damp microfiber towel, and then removal with a clean and dry microfiber towel before the wax has a chance to dry. During the application I had my reserves regarding the results as it just seemed to quick and easy when compared to a traditional wax. Being that I live in a very dusty area constantly plagued by wind, and I try to keep my 4Runner on trails for a week at a time a couple times a month, my paint surface always feels gritty, regardless of how well I wash it. Much to my surprise, with just one application of the wax as instructed, quick on and off, my paint was smooth and no feeling of grit was present..I had just washed it, hit it with the wax, and it felt smoother than I had ever felt. The shine from the wax brought out the metallic flake in the paint that I had never really noticed. I don't generally buy much hype from products like these, and have had bad experiences with some of the bigger names in detailing products, but this has changed my outlook. I had zero streaking, no swirl marks where I applied the wax, and the dust that did land on the surface after application came off with a slight breeze. Now, being that my 4Runner is silver, its hard to see much detail in the shine, but I can definitely see a difference in person. Compared to a traditional paste wax, the application was substantially quicker, no buffer required, and didn't leave any edges with clumps of excess wax. I wouldn't say this is a replacement alternative to traditional waxes, but for a quick, convenient and less mess application, its perfect.
Quick to apply
No mess
No streaks
No swirls
No buildup like traditional wax
No residue on textured plastics
Smoothed the paint instantly
Brought out shine/details I had never noticed
Contaminates come off with air after application
Now, for full disclosure, I am not paid by Shine Armor unless my discount code that I was provided with is used, and I only receive a small kickback. I did receive the wax for free to try, and as much as I'd like to chase that dollar, I will not give inaccurate information or reviews for personal benefit, look at my review of the CaliRaised roof rack. I just want to be clear, unbiased and let anyone that reads this understand, if I don't like something, I will let you know.
Now with that said, I will be giving a follow-up review in the next week or so. My 4Runner is not garage kept, its not babied, and will be back on trails Monday the 20th of February 2023, exactly 3 days after the application of the wax. Its going to be exposed to dirt, tree branches and pollen, typical off-road elements and possibly snow/rain. This is where most waxes are tested and fail. So initial impressions are great with it making a visual difference that can be felt, but the elements and normal use will give me a final overall impression. At the time of writing this I am ready to purchase several products not only to try, but to actually use. While my 4Runner is not a beauty machine, my wife's 4Runner isn't exposed to much abuse, and I would like to be able to detail her Runner for her and at this time, I am impressed enough to purchase a full line of Shine Armor products.
Subscribe and stay tuned for the follow up!!
