Having put some good trail and street mileage on these billet beauties that don't break the bank, I have been working on a review of them, and here it is!! If you have been following my 4Runner build, I think you may be surprised at what I have to say about these Send It Suspension billet upper control arms, and Thrashed Off-Road in general. Needless to say, this is not the only TOR product currently in my 4Runner, and it will not be the last! So the big question is, are they worth the money and hype??

5 months now, and well over 1000 miles off pavement since these were installed in place of the Icon Tubular UCA's and not one single issue to note. I purchased these due to the constant squeaking I experienced with my Icon tubular control arms, even after re-greasing them, speaking with Icon customer support and retorquing. I knew at that point I wanted to ditch the urethane bushing uppers for something that was not only going to eliminate the squeaking, but look good doing it. After a few weeks of shopping around and seeing a constant $1500+ price tag for everything, I came across Thrashed Off Road. Having never heard of them, and being weary of low-grade or cheap products as I off road full time, I was hesitant due to the $600 price tag. How could anyone actually sell anything like this at that price and it actually be good?! So, I contacted a few individuals that utilized the Send It Suspension UCA's from Thrashed Off Road and received nothing but praise about the entire product line and everyone that works at TOR! And these were definitely not the park-in-grass for a photo kind of vehicle owners. Everyone I reached out to actually uses their rigs, hell I'd even say a couple of them just flat out abused them..so, I was convinced.

I'll be the first to admit that even after receiving the UCA's, handling them, inspecting them and scrutinizing the absolute hell out of them, I was hesitant as to how they would hold up and perform. But I was judging them based on cost even after all the praise I had heard about them, and still had some reserve. Now that they have been through absolutely everything, including some hits hard enough to shift my RTT forward 2.5" on the rack, they have been absolutely perfect! They are very easy to adjust, zero maintenance and best of all, no squeaking!

Not only have I not had any issues and I'm not having to re-grease them constantly, I was able to dial in my alignment/caster better than the Icon's could have ever done, and my alignment is still spot on after more than 4k miles total with more than 1k miles off the beaten path. Having been through water, mud, snow and everything else, there is also zero signs of rust in or around any of the steel hardware and all of it remains easy to loosen and torque when needed. The rubber boot at the ball joint has also remained in near perfect condition and done a great job at keeping the crap out of the joint. In addition to all the important things, the red anodizing on the UCA's is still as bright as the day I opened the box! Minus the areas that have been pelted with rocks, that red is still nice and bright. But it can't all be good, can it? No, I do have 2 very minor, and personal quirks with one of them being my own fault as I simply haven't asked the Thrashed Off Road crew..

So what are these stupid issues I have? First, I never received my bottle of hot sauce...*insert silly face here**..but no biggie, shit happens, and if I really wanted it, I would have reached out to Thrashed and simply asked, or I could not be a cheap ass and actually buy a bottle. But, I'm not big on spicy foods, especially when I'm on trails for 5+ days at a time. But the one concern I have had, which is pretty minor and the reason I have not asked yet, is concerning the ball joint. If by chance it needs to be replaced, what exactly do I need to do? Do I just contact Thrashed and purchase one? Is it compatible with something like the Icon Billet UCA ball joint? I don't know, but I have also been so pleased with these it has been a back-burner concern. My only other gripe, that some might see as a benefit, is the maintenance free ball joint. I have a specific type of grease I like to use, and would love to see a zerk fitting on the ball joint that would allow me to use the grease of my choice and re-grease when needed. Maintenance free is great, but I'll admit that when I do perform my maintenance, I feel like something is missing. Now, I am sure if I actually made the effort to contact Thrashed, I would have an answer within a matter of hours. However, I have not made the effort as I do not feel it will be necessary any time soon. Yes, things do wear out, even when they are maintenance free, but as I stated, these have been such a game changer that I simply don't feel the need to reach out to them regarding any details with the ball joints at this time. But, if anyone at Thrashed Off Road happens to see this and gives me any info, I will gladly share the details.

But in the end, Thrashed Off Road has made a fantastic and stout product at a price the rest of the market simply cannot compete with. Their customer service and customer interaction is far superior to any other company I have encountered and these guys stand by their products. I am definitely a fan of Thrashed Off Road and their Send It Suspension so far and I am looking forward to switching all of my suspension parts over soon!
