Regardless what type of work someone does, tools are always part of the job. In this particular instance, the primary tool being used is my 2010 Toyota 4Runner Trail Edition. I purchased this 4Runner in September of 2021, making me the third owner, with the previous two taking such exceptional care of it, it still smelled new inside with 179k miles on the odometer. My initial intention was to make this a family outing vehicle, with no expectations of it actually being a gateway back to being independently employed, nor an expectation to be a part of OnX Offroad as a Trail Guide. Just over a year later, lots of time and money invested, and some money lost due to incorrect info regarding lift kits and the kdss system (more on that later), I built something that has opened up several channels for me and an endless world of opportunity and adventure. Now, I generally shy away from naming my vehicles, being in my 40's it just seems sort of imprudent. However, while not necessarily a name, the Toyota Classic Silver paint color with the black accents that came with the Trail Edition, reminded me of a raccoon, one animal that I have always had a love and fascination with. Thus the reference "trashpanda" was born in partial association with "Rocket" from Guardians of the Galaxy, the gun loving raccoon that I feel a close association with due to his demeanor, love for guns and anything that goes boom. Details on the build will come in a later post, but the 4Runner has been introduced for those not familiar with it from my continual posts of reels and pictures on Instagram or Facebook. Below are a few picture showing some of the progress, from first day home, to the 2014+ facelift (don't hate me OG lovers), to its current form.
